Commissioned living willow arbor at Corsham Regis School, created collaboratively with young students who also designed 'stained glass' window panels and two angelic figures for the entrance.

Interactive wishing tree designed and built for the Bath Children's Art Festival. Inviting visitors to add their wish to the tree. At the end of the festival the tree was fully laden with heart warming and often poignant wishes.

Living willow dragon sculpture created for Dulcote, near Wells, Somerset, building on the spirit of the Dinder dragon celebrations

A community project, building a 40ft Dragon Lantern in the village of Dinder near Wells, Somerset to celebrate their dragon festival (documented in The Doomsday Book) which happens every 50 years.

Maya’s first major commission: a 20-meter long willow and tissue paper dragon built as a giant lantern and performance space for the Sunblock Festival eclipse celebration in Cornwall."

Artist commission from the Holburne Museum, Bath to build a giant processional lantern for the Bath Lantern Procession 2015.

During a formative period in her early community arts career, Maya designed and facilitated the creation of processional structures and costumes for the opening night of the Bath International Music Festival.

In 2005, the creative collective 'Un-Natural Acts' emerged, specializing in interactive topiary and garden statue sculptures. We conceived, constructed, and animated these unique ambient and walkabout costumes, enchanting diverse audiences across a spectrum of distinguished venues, including Buckingham Palace, Henley Regatta, and the Tate Modern.

In keeping with the theme of ‘Weird Science’ design, build and performance of large scale, interactive puppets / costumes ‘Dolly the Sheep’ 1 & 2 for The Community Carnival 2022. They went on to make many more appearances at various festivals and events throughout the year.

Building upon the success of the previous year's community engagement, 2001 saw another series of vibrant workshops organized to craft spectacular carnival structures and costumes for the Walcot Nation Day Parade.

Lead artist for Bristol's 1999 Millennium Lantern Procession, Maya guided volunteer artists in a collaborative creation of three monumental illuminated lanterns for the city's New Year's Eve celebration.
