Gloucester Lantern Procession: 2011-2024

For over a decade, lead artist within a select team of six artist for the annual Gloucester Lantern Procession. Collaboratively establishing a yearly theme, incorporating input from participating schools. each artist develops individual concepts and designs to lead engaging lantern-making workshops in schools, fostering creativity and teaching essential skills. The resulting lanterns, ranging from intimate handheld pieces to impressive large-scale constructions, culminate in the spectacular procession each November. This cherished event transforms Gloucester's streets into a moving display of light and shadow, drawing thousands to witness the powerful and unifying magic of community-created art.


2024: Winter Wonderland. Enchanted forest - Owl and Aurora Borealis.



2023: Twelve days of Christmas- four calling birds, three french hens



2022: Alice in Wonderland- Cheshire cat, cat heads



2021: Nature. Love the planet- The world, smaller hearts



2019: Children's Literature: Gepetto, Pinochio, fairy godmother, magic wands



2018: Fairy tales- Hansel, Gretle, roses



2017: Panto-goose, golden egg, speech bubbles



2016: Arctic scenes- Owls, auroras, wolf



2014: Palm trees, Mosaic lanterns, Giant 12 Pointed Star




2013: Taylor of Gloucester Scissors, needles, sewing thread reels
