Hellboy II - The Golden Army

What can I say about this movie? I loved it...... The first Hellboy movie was a good comic strip to live action movie (insofar as the standard that was about at the time) however I found myself thinking that it should have been a little better, and I was excited to think that another movie was on the way. After a long wait we got the second movie and it was fantastic. I loved Pans Labyrinth by the same director (Guilliermo De Toro) and loved the dark gothic look and feel to the world.

The action scenes in the movie are top class and as for the CGI and special effects, they are outstanding. To many people would dismiss this movie because the idea for the character comes from a dark horse comic (or graphic novel as they are now), that would be a mistake. The guy from Bros played the evil prince and he played it very well, all Bros sins are forgiven. If you haven't seen the first movie you need to watch it first so you can understand the background

50 First Dates

Yeah OK laugh, fill your boots. I know it is a chick flick, but it was all right and had some funny stuff in it. Adam Sandler and Drew Barrimore are the stars and as you would expect the same actors are in this film as with every other Adam Sandler movie. I am not sure what is up with that? They must be attached by a 10 foot rope or something?

The story is about a girl who is involved in a car crash, and she can't form new memories. Basicaly she lives the same day out again and again, thinking that it is the day of the crash. Adam Sandler is a babe hound who sleeps with every tourist that comes to Hawaii, he meets her in a diner and falls for her, the only problem is next day she can't remember who he is. It is obvious what is going to happen and lets be honest it was never going to win any awards, however it was entertaining in a Saturday after the X factor sort of way. No guns or car chases, but still worth a look.

3 out of 5 stars.
