The Douglas Clan

Right then! where can I start with this bunch?

Sandra and Cam (that's a great place to start) Sandra is my dad's younger sister, and Cam (Cameron) is her husband. Great people and always very warm and friendly. They used to live on the same road as Gran and Grandad John, and my summers were spent ducking in and out of their house and the park.

Sandra and Cam have a business that makes and sells Clocks in 3D features, like celtic stones and crosses etc. Very nice bits of kit (I will post a link to Sandra and Cam's website when I get it, go check it out).

Sandra and Cam

Cam is just great at getting you involved in a story when he is telling you it, he gets very animated and always hits the mark with the punchline! Cam took me through to see Hearts win the cup and I have seldom seen him so happy!

old days

Sandra and Cam have two children, Neil and Cara. (pictured here with Ewan and I, I love my Austin Powers Jacket)

Neil, Ewan and I used to hang around during the endless school holidays and Neil and Ewan would play an improvised pitch and put, and I would be smacking the hell out of the ground with a 1 wood, even as far back as then my cousin Neil was into golf (and very good at it).

Neil took me to play serious "man's" golf once at the course at silverknowes, I think I provided him with equal amounts of embarrassment and entertainment as my scorecard needed to be extended to fit in all the extra digits! I don't care what you all say 4,821 is a decent amount of shots to get round a par 82 course. On the 14th Neil pulled out a 5 iron and was telling me that he would play it short as he didn't want to over hit it....TING! as he made perfect contact with it and it settled about 20 foot from the pin (par 3!). Up steps me with a trusty 1 wood, Man I swear I hit that ball and it sounded like a howitzer going off. Neil and his mate were on the floor laughing, but the ball went sailing over the pin but rolled backwards down the slope and stopped about 5 feet from the pin! Yes I am proud to say that I got my first and lets face it my only ever birdy on the next shot!

Neil has moved all over the world teaching people how to play golf and is currently in Borneo running a golf school.

Cara, George and the boys (Marc and Ben)

Cara is the youngest of my generation, and is the only girl in the John side of the family (if you see what I mean?) Cara has always been very funny and creative, and when I think of her when we were all young I can remember her laughing at Ewan's jokes or the trouble Neil and I had gotten ourselves into!

Cara met George a long time ago and the two of them were married in cyprus a few years back. They had a big doo for the family when they came back, I was on deployment with the squadron at the time so couldn't go.

George is a sound bloke who I like a lot, he was the manager of a retail store the same time I was, in the city centre and I stopped in to say hi and we would laugh at the tourists flapping about the one o'clock gun.

Cara and George are the very proud (and so they should be) parents of Marc and Ben.

Marc is a right little character, who was with us at the cup final, poor little soul he thinks that it might happen again in his life time! Mark, Ewan and I played football last year in Sandra and Cam's back garden, we had a great time.
